PVA is scheduling a formal press conference for 2pm on Monday, April 20 at their headquarters at One Mustang Drive in Cohoes, New York.  April 20 will mark exactly one month since PVA decided to pursue this project.  PVA President Tony Hynes and the designer of PREVENT, Managing Director Jason Schoen, will be available to the media.  PVA will also conduct a demonstration of the PREVENT ventilator on a test lung on loan from Hudson Valley Community College.  Media and dignitaries in attendance will be subject to PVA’s health and safety restrictions while maintaining social distancing. Disposable masks will be available for guests.

PREVENT is approved under the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), a fast track process passed in response to the spread of COVID-19.  This authorization permits a wider supply base to produce ventilators and medical supplies during emergencies such as the coronavirus pandemic.  PVA is the first company in New York State to receive design and manufacturing authorization.  PVA is also the first non-medical device company in the world to receive FDA approval to design and manufacture ventilators under their COVID-19 Emergency Use Authorization.
